Workamper's Guide
What Makes Us Special
Stone Mountain Park is not your ordinary park. In addition to 3,200 acres of natural beauty, we also have attractions and special events for the whole family to enjoy. There are multiple food service venues and gift shops to visit, plus we are located in metro Atlanta so there are many surrounding attractions for you to visit. Also, our work ethic is based on the Golden Rule - we treat our guests and each other the way we would want to be treated. Workampers are paid for every hour worked, enjoy free Wi-Fi service, free use of our laundry facilities, and enjoy fellowship with other workampers.
Our Campground
You won't find a more beautiful campground in the entire State of Georgia! We have over 400 sites, a general store on site, a large recreation area including volleyball courts, swimming pool, and pavilion area. We also provide Water Taxi service from the campground to different attraction areas during the summer. We have reserved a limited number of full hook-up sites for Workampers (water, electric, sewer) at a rate of $250 per month. This is a tremendous discount for Workampers, and the rate is decreased for each seasonal anniversary that you work with us!!
Stone Mountain Park's Operating Schedule
We hire workampers for each season. It is possible to work more than one season, but that is contingent upon our job needs and your performance. Our Spring season starts the first weekend in March, our Summer season starts Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day weekend, our Fall season starts in October runs through the end of December, and our Snow Mountain season starts in late December and runs through early March.
How Do You Apply
Complete an online application which is found under the Employment link of this website. Workampers are also encouraged to send a resume including past workamping experience, your seasonal availability, and the type and size of your RV. Your resume can be e-mailed to ckasputis@stonemountainpark.com or faxed to 770-413-5055.
The Interview Process
You will be called for an initial phone interview if your skills and qualifications match any available position we have, and if we have workamping sites available. Additional phone interviews may be set up with hiring managers. Job offers can be made over the phone, but are contingent upon meeting you in person.
Work Schedules
We try to schedule Workamping couples on shifts as close as possible. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be scheduled exactly the same hours. One person may have to come in earlier than the other, and one may leave later than another.
We also cannot guarantee a certain amount of hours per week. Depending upon the time of year, Workampers can expect to work 15-35 hours per week, and anywhere from 2 to 5 days per week. Weekends are required for all positions.
Orientation and Training
To prepare you for work at Stone Mountain Park, all new employees must complete several training classes. This includes an orientation class where we will go over the handbook and you will take a tour of the Park. You will also complete departmental training specific to the position you were hired for. Other classes may include Memory Making which emphasizes the high level of customer service that we require from our employees and a Pep Rally which will inspire you for the upcoming season.
Thank you for your interest in workamping at Stone Mountain Park. Please feel free to contact us at any time regarding questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
