Plantation Caretaker

Description:
DUTIES:
Greet guests with a smile and respect as they come to the Plantation attraction. Create and maintain the 1850s atmosphere through storytelling with interpretive material, acts, and social settings. Serve as a resource for guests, providing explanations and answers to their questions regarding the Plantation. Teach historic education programs to school groups. Provide daily care and maintenance of antiques and historic houses. All other duties as assigned.
TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- Interpretive experience in education, history, and/or museums required
- Previous customer service experience required
- Carpentry and/or gardening skills is preferred
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be willing to wear clothing of the interpretive time period 1780-1860
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work days, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of people
