What is Stone Mountain Park?
Stone Mountain Park is a green oasis where families and friends can enjoy the outdoors together. Listed in Frommer’s 500 Places to Visit with Your Kids Before They Grow Up and cited by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as one of “35 Natural Wonders in Georgia You Must See Before You Die,” Stone Mountain Park is located just 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta. The five square mile park is Georgia’s most visited attraction. Home to the world’s largest piece of exposed granite, Stone Mountain Park offers a variety of attractions, entertainment and recreation.

You never know who you'll meet at Stone Mountain Park. Depending on the season, a spirited cast of characters are on hand to make your day memorable. Most live shows and entertainment acts take place in our town of Crossroads, which also features several shops with live craft demonstrations.
Stone Mountain Park is also home to world-class festivals and events throughout the year. The Festivals & Events page on the web site lists upcoming events. While there are dozens of events throughout the year some featured annual events include:
- Spring FUN Break in early April
- Summer at the Rock in June through early August.
- Yellow Daisy Festival – the Nation’s #1 Arts & Crafts Show, the weekend after Labor Day

- Stone Mountain Christmas in November & December
