STONE MOUNTAIN PARK FAMILY CAMPGROUND AWARDED HIGHEST RATING FROM WOODALL’S NORTH AMERICAN CAMPGROUND DIRECTORY
Stone Mountain, GA- Stone Mountain Park Family Campground, the largest campground in the state of Georgia, has been awarded the highest rating of a 5W in both facilities and recreation from the 2008 Woodalls’ North American Campground Directory. Winners of this rating represent less than 3% of privately owned parks throughout the country. Additionally, the campground is one of only two in the state of Georgia to achieve this award. The announcement was made by Paul Chandler, manager of Stone Mountain Park Family Campground.
“We are very excited about this recognition and are honored to receive it for the third year in a row,” said Chandler. “The campground aims to create a simple and accessible site that caters to both the hard core camper and the weekender. Stone Mountain Park is a green oasis which feels like a getaway even though it’s just a short drive away from Atlanta. Guests can book reservations now for the Spring when the park is in-bloom with hundreds of azaleas and dogwoods.”
Woodall’s rating system consists of two ratings from 1 to 5. One rating looks at the facilities of the park such as sites, service, hookups, restrooms and cleanliness. The second rating looks at the recreational opportunities available for guests.
