In order to film or take photos at Stone Mountain Park for commercial purposes, companies/individuals must first obtain approval from the Park. Due to the volume of requests for filming and photography on-Park, all requests must be submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to the shoot.

Media Requests

Stone Mountain Park welcomes the news media to our beautiful park. We are happy to share our news stories, photos, videos, and press releases. Our media admissions policy is designed to provide media the opportunity to become familiar with our unique landscapes, entertainment, and attractions that offer many angles for articles. It also enables media an opportunity to enjoy the park with immediate family members who might be traveling with them. Complimentary admissions are available to working news media in the following categories:

  • Print Media: Publishers, Editors, Reporters, Writers, Photographers
  • Broadcast Media: Station Managers, Producers, News Directors, Assignment Editors, Promotional Directors, and “On Air” Personnel including anchors/hosts/DJs, Reporters and Photographers
  • Freelance Writers: Stone Mountain Park also provides complimentary admission to freelance writers with written confirmation of assignment.
  • Complimentary tickets for media must be arranged through Stone Mountain Park’s Public Relations Department.
  • Camera and film crews (including still photography) must be escorted by a Stone Mountain Park representative at all times while working in the park.

Please email with your request and proof of your credentials two working days or more in advance of your visit. We cannot guarantee delivery of complimentary tickets requested less than two working days in advance.

Lunar New Year event returns in February

Stone Mountain Park’s second annual Lunar New Year Festival will celebrate the Year of the Dragon. This Asian-inspired festival pays tribute to the culture and New Year traditions of Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and other countries that follow the lunar calendar.

Annual Native American Festival & Pow Wow

The Native American Festival & Pow Wow begins Nov. 2 and runs through Nov. 5. With multiple tribes represented, the festival is considered the largest gathering of its kind in Georgia and a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society.

Play by Day, Glow by Night during Pumpkin Festival

Stone Mountain Park’s Pumpkin Festival – Play by Day, Glow by Night, is the most illuminated fall of all! Guests are welcome to celebrate the splendor of autumn during the park’s Pumpkin Festival, a family tradition featuring a multitude of glowing experiences.

South’s Largest Outdoor Arts and Crafts Show Sept. 7 – 10

Featuring over 400 artists from across the United States, Stone Mountain Park’s 55th annual Yellow Daisy Festival will take place Sept. 7-10.  Voted one of the top arts and crafts shows in the nation by Sunshine Artist Magazine, a Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event, and winner of multiple awards by the Southeast Festival and Events Association, the event is a tradition for multi-generational shoppers searching for unique handcrafted works of art.

New Soul Fest Concert Series Plus Special Drone & Light Show

Families can experience a full day of fun at Stone Mountain Park during the all-new Soul Fest Concert Series plus a special Drone & Light Show to finish out the night July 27 – 30. Fantastic Fourth Celebration, July 1 – 5

From July 1 through July 5, Stone Mountain Park is lighting up the sky every night during its Fantastic Fourth Celebration with a special patriotic fireworks finale after the all-new Music Across America Drone & Light Show. Named a “Must-See Fireworks Show” by USA Today and one of Reader’s Digest’s picks for “America’s Most Spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks,” Georgia’s most visited attraction is the premier location to see fireworks in Atlanta.

K9s in Flight and New Drone & Light Show Kick Off Summer

Families can find so much adventure so close to home this summer. Georgia’s most visited attraction, Stone Mountain Park, is hosting its annual Summer at the Rock event from June 10 through July 30. With plenty of interactive attractions, summer entertainment, and outdoor recreation Stone Mountain Park offers options for families to unplug and reconnect all summer long.

Military Free at Stone Mountain Park Memorial Day Event

Georgia’s most visited attraction, Stone Mountain Park, honors military service with four days of patriotic activities May 26 – 29.  Highlights include performances by the Air National Guard Band of the South, park attractions including Dinosaur Explore, Scenic Railroad, and Summit Skyride, and the debut of the all-new Music Across America Drone & Light Show followed by a special salute to the troops and epic fireworks finale all four nights of the holiday weekend.

New Latino Family Festival and Light Show Event

The Latino Family Festival, an exciting new event celebrating Latino culture and heritage, is set to take place the first three weekends in May at Stone Mountain Park, Georgia’s No. 1 most visited attraction. The festival promises to be a vibrant and lively celebration of Latino music, dance, and culture, featuring a wide range of live international talent, including dancers, a marching band, storytellers, and a drone and light show.

Spring FUN Break returns to Stone Mountain Park

Spring Break is so much fun, so close to home. Located on 3,200 acres of natural beauty, Georgia’s most visited attraction is kicking off the Spring season with its annual spring break celebration. Family-friendly attractions, exciting entertainment, outdoor recreation, and more are open daily April 1 to April 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 9. Special showings of the classic Lasershow Spectacular close out each action-packed day starting at 8:30 p.m. through April 8.

Annual Easter Sunrise Service at Stone Mountain Park

The annual Easter Sunrise Service is returning to Stone Mountain Park on April 9, 2023. This years’ service is anticipated to be the biggest ever with special guests Bryant Wright and Crawford Loritts who will be delivering the message at the top of the mountain.

Stone Mountain Park Debuts NEW World’s Largest Summer Light Show

Stone Mountain Park, Georgia’s No. 1 most visited attraction, will unveil an all-new multi-dimensional digital technology Summer Light Show that is set to revolutionize the world of entertainment. Stone Mountain Park Announces FREE Pre-K Pass Program

Georgia’s most visited attraction is making it easier for families to discover endless adventure and family-friendly activities this year. The Pre-K Pass, a new program at Stone Mountain Park, ensures children ages 3-5 can enjoy family-friendly park attractions free of charge. Online registration is required for the complimentary Pre-K Pass and activation must take place at the park by May 14, 2023.
