Summit Skyride

Skyride closes at 4 PM from Nov. 9 – Jan 5

This high-speed Swiss cable car transports guests more than 825 feet above ground to the top of Stone Mountain. From the top, experience amazing views of the Atlanta skyline, the Appalachian Mountains and more up to 60 miles away.

Special Attraction Information: Summit Skyride is subject to close during inclement weather conditions including high winds. The Skyride Plaza where you board the tram is 1.5 miles from the walk-up trail. Please keep this in mind if you choose a one-way ticket.

Summit Skyride is included with an Attractions Ticket or Mountain Membership.

Skyride-only tickets are available for purchase at the park on the day of your visit.

How long is the Summit Skyride trip?

The Summit Skyride transports guests a half a mile round trip from the bottom to the top of Stone Mountain. Climbing more than 825 feet above ground to the summit, on a clear day you can see for more than 40 miles.

Are there any restrictions for the Summit Skyride?

Summit Skyride is safe to ride for all ages. However, guests with the following conditions are advised not to ride:

  • High Blood Pressure
  • Expectant Mothers
  • Recent Surgery
  • Heart Condition Illness 
  • Head, Back, or Neck Injury

Is the Summit Skyride wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the Summit Skyride is wheelchair accessible. Guests using wheelchairs can board the cable car without any problems. However, it’s advisable to check with the staff for any specific instructions or assistance.

Can I purchase tickets for the Summit Skyride in advance?

Yes, you can purchase an Attractions Ticket, which includes the Summit Skyride, in advance through the Stone Mountain Park official website. However, Skyride-only tickets are available for purchase at the park on the day of your visit.

 Is food or drink allowed on the Summit Skyride?

Generally, food and drinks are not permitted on the Summit Skyride for safety and cleanliness reasons. It’s best to finish any snacks or drinks before boarding the cable car.
