At the Park, we have many different camping styles to choose from, allowing you to make your experience exactly what you want it to be. Whether you want to go the traditional route in a tent or a glamp it up in a yurt, you will have an experience to remember at Stone Mountain Park!

5 Camping Choices at Stone Mountain Park.

Traditional Tent Sites

For the more adventurous camper who likes the idea of setting up and sleeping in a tent, Stone Mountain Park campgrounds have 125 tent sites available. We have some tent spots that are very private and surrounded by wooded areas with hiking trails, and others that are more open and close to the lake. Tent campers also have the option to hook up to water and electricity at certain tent sites.

Safari Tent

A step up from the traditional camping experience is safari tents. If you like the idea of sleeping outdoors without the hassle of setting up a tent, we offer tents that are already assembled and ready to go. Safari tents contain a queen size bed, two camping mats, and a table and chairs, all on a wooden platform. Although our safari tents sleep up to two adults and two children, you may want to bring a pack-and-play or a blow-up mattress for extra sleeping spots. The tents also come with a fan and lamp, as well as electrical outlets and a water spigot.

Yurt Camping

Ever heard of glamping? It’s glamorous camping – for people who prefer to have a little more luxury while camping but still desire an outdoorsy feel. Stone Mountain Park’s version of glamping involves our yurts. These are made of wood and canvas, and they come with quite a few amenities:

  • Beds and furniture
  • Heating and air conditioning
  • Ceiling fan
  • Electrical outlets
  • Four large windows

The yurts sleep up to five guests, but you will need to bring linens along with personal items and a cooler. Keep in mind that our yurts do not have bathrooms inside, but they are within walking distance of the restroom facilities.

RV Sites

Our RV sites are perfect for people passing through the city with their own recreational vehicle or for those with an RV who are simply looking to unplug and unwind for a few days without having to travel a long distance. Our sites have private decks with gas grills, and the nearby General Store is stocked with many camping necessities. If you run out of anything or forget to pack an essential item, the store has products to meet most of your camping needs and to make sure your RV camping experience is a great one.

RV Rentals

If you don’t have your own RV, another camping alternative is Stone Mountain Park RV rentals. Each RV includes two TVs with cable, air conditioning and heat, and a bathroom with a shower and tub. For your convenience, there is also a mini kitchen with a stovetop, oven, refrigerator, and microwave. With Stone Mountain Park RV rentals, you can still have the best of both worlds: enjoy a serene view of the lake and be surrounded by acres of hiking trails, but without having to sacrifice basic commodities and comfort. The RVs sleep between 4 and 6 people, but you will need to bring your own bed linens and cooking supplies.

Campground Amenities

The campground area at Stone Mountain Park is huge, but no matter what type of camping you enjoy, you’ll enjoy a wide variety of campground amenities. There is a refreshing swimming pool for warm, sunny days, as well as several fun outdoor activities like the Horseshoe Court, Sand Volleyball Court, and a children’s playground area.

Additionally, there are other campground amenities offered while you are making family memories. For starters, there is a laundry facility, which is perfect for RVers that are hopping from city to city. For your convenience, the campground sites also include grills, picnic tables, fire rings, restrooms, and showers, and select spots also include free Wi-Fi & cable television.

While in the park, you have the choice to explore the hiking trails, ride your bikes, or go fishing. There are also many attractions at Stone Mountain Park that you can access with the purchase of Attractions Tickets.
