March 22 – 31, 2024
Stone Mountain Park – Yellow Daisy Lot – Under the Big Top

Making its U.S. debut in 2024, Germany’s Great Bavarian Circus celebrates the culture of Germany as it visits 15 cities across the country.  Featuring an award-winning European cast, the experience takes fans on a trip through Bavaria from an Oktoberfest inspired bier hall and a celebratory opening number staged around a resplendent maypole to acts set to a mix of German music and current hits and performers garbed in traditional Bavarian costumes.

Brought to you by Benjamin and David Spindler, the dynamic 9th generation of one of Europe’s most illustrious circus dynasties, this electrifying extravaganza melds the vibrant essence of Oktoberfest with the captivating allure of the circus.  With a legacy that spans more than 100 years of performing, the cast and crew of Germany’s Great Bavarian Circus includes 11 members of the Spindler family.

The award-winning European cast takes center stage to dazzle and amaze, bringing gasps and laughter to the crowd.

  • Performers on silks, the trapeze and straps fly through the air, defying gravity.
  • Dexterous jugglers, flipping trampoliners and acrobatic balancers showcase their athletic prowess in the ring, while presentations of spirited goats and loveable dachshunds bring happy smiles to all.
  • Clowns will have the audiences roaring with laughter, performing throughout the show, often inviting members of the audience on stage.
  • The maypole has its roots in Bavaria and is used for celebrations throughout the year.

Tickets for the Bavarian Circus are separate from Attractions Tickets to Stone Mountain Park. Daily or Annual Parking Pass not included and can be purchased here.

Native American Festival and Pow Wow

October 31 – November 3, 2024

Thursday & Friday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Bring your family to experience the energy and color of the largest Native American gathering in Georgia. Located in Historic Square, the four-day Native American Festival and Pow-Wow was named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society.

This event showcases Native American culture through dance, music, authentic craft demonstrations, cooking traditions, storytelling, wildlife presentations and more.

  • Experience the central role of dance in native culture as Native Americans from across the U.S. and Central America compete in inter-tribal dance and drum competitions.
  • Learn about primitive skills such as flint-knapping, bow making, fire starting, open fire cooking, and pottery. Crawl inside a tipi and other traditional native dwellings. Parents and children can participate in interactive experiences such as an encampment showing the lifestyle of local and regional historic Native American cultures.
  • Find that one-of-a-kind holiday gift in the artists’ marketplace, where world-renowned Native and Native-inspired artists and crafters demonstrate their skills and offer hand-crafted items for sale.
  • Wildlife presentations by the American Eagle Foundation. The American Eagle Foundation, permitted through USFWS, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of the bald eagle and other birds of prey through public education.

The event grew from that one youth group to thousands ascending the mountain every Easter since.

A Tour of Southern Ghosts

Join the Atlanta family tradition and meet professional storytellers spinning their tales of famous (and not-so-famous) Southern Ghosts along the lantern-lit paths of the Historic Square grounds at Stone Mountain Park.

The guided tours take place between 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays for the last 3 weekends in October. The stories are a little scary, many times humorous, but never too frightening and always appropriate for young children. Each night offers a different cast of six storytellers, which means audience members may return to “A Tour of Southern Ghosts” on additional nights to hear a new collection of stories. Call the number below for each night’s featured storytellers.

All proceeds benefit the ongoing programs of ART Station, a non-profit contemporary arts center located in Stone Mountain Village in the City of Stone Mountain. Founded in 1986, ART Station provides cultural and educational opportunities for the entire community, focusing its programming on quality southern works of art and artists.

Tickets are available online, by phone, or in-person at ART Station.
Stone Mountain Park Attractions Tickets and Mountain Memberships are not valid for this tour.

For additional information regarding “A Tour of Southern Ghosts” or ART Station programming, please call 770-469-1105 or visit artstation.org.

Stone Mountain Highland Games

October 19 – 20, 2024

Since 1972, the picturesque grounds of the Stone Mountain Park meadow, a short drive northeast of Atlanta, Georgia, have resounded with the sounds of bagpipes, fiddles and harps during the third weekend in October.

Each year, thousands of Scots (even those that wish to be ‘Scot for the Day’) from around the world will don their family tartans and gather to greet old friends and make new ones too.

One of the premier Scottish festivals in the US, Stone Mountain Highland Games will feature colorful pipe bands, Scottish Athletics, Piping and Drumming competitions, Highland dancers competing before judges of worldwide renown, Country Dancing, Scottish Harping and Fiddling. Scottish foods and drink, clan tents and vendors selling lovely goods imported from the British Isles, and Celtic performers are also a part of this traditional gathering.
